We are now open and in full swing here! Some great rain fall here has helped Mother nature create an absolutely beautiful picture of Spring green magnificance and we are soooooo enjoying that! The sun and heat are not far away and we have big plans to turn our beautiful salt-water pool into a heated one (still beautiful and still salt of course!).... fingers crossed should be later next month.

The season winds down - September breaks - 2012

So the the summer season slowly winds down but we still have plenty of sunshine and heat here if you fancy a late Summer break - La Chataigne is an ideal place for a couple or small family and we are offering a 15% discount at the moment for September bookings (La Grange too is available for bigger groups).....we are also open for 2012 bookings and as many of our guests from this year as looking to return (and some have already booked) book early if you want a core Summer week. New for 2011

Well each year we try to update, renew and improve Le Mournet both inside and out so as well as a general update of some of the decor and bits n' bobs inside we are working continuing our work on the outside for 2011... Inside we will be working a little on the Ecurie improving the lighting in the Ecurie bathroom and redecorating, there will be some reupholstering of the sofas in the Grange and Chataigne and La Chataigne will also be getting some extra garden furniture to complete its outside comfort. The pool area will also be getting a few extra furniture touches and as ever we will be updating our board games and dvd collection to ensure that your stay is as perfect as it can be.

We will also be installing french digital TV so there will be even more channels available if you choose to watch Tv during your holiday - CBeebies and all the free uk channels will of course still
be available....
For children of all ages we will be increasing our games and outdoor fun with a few giant outdoor games as well as including Garden Darts and Quoits and a mini trampoline.... We are working to make the croquet lawn more private and to create secret passages - according to Melodie my daughter - and a variety of other garden ventures including an educational garden project where children can learn about how plants grow into food and as ever we will be growing a large amount of our own organic produce. We will also be working on the peace garden to make it an even nicer place to take stock and unwind with the sound of the river below and the birds above....Hope to see you this Summer time

Charitable Projects this Year!

So this year heralds our desire to help children less fortunate than our own who have amazing and easy access to great education. We take it for granted. And yet in many parts of the world that is just not an option. On a personal level we are ourselves sponsoring a family with two young children in the Tibetan community of Bylakuppe and we are also sponsoring the Penies for Peace campaign by the amazing Greg Mortenson who builds school in Pakistan & Afganistan (res his book Three Cups of Tea!) but through the Mournet we are going to sponsor a child through their schooling in Haiti to help in our own small way to rebuilt the future of the children through education. So the Mournet's profits will go towards helping this venture - thank you in advance....

The 2010 Season

The Summer of 2010 is proving to be an amazing one with guests from literally all over the world who have delighted in the Ardeche and the Mournet's offering. We have worked so hard ovewr the last 8 Summers to try and create a place to combines the peace and tranquility you expect from a rural location, a place where people can play, laugh and run around, explore the region near and far and generally enjoy their holidays to the full from a comfortable base. From exploring the river, the gorges and the mountains, to the markets and local festivals, from yoga and massage in the garden to quiet or not so quiet time by the pool ......This year's guests have certainly appreciated what the Mournet has to offer and we are so thankful to them for leaving a little bit of their joy and energy behind to mix into our own and to that of Le Mournet's in general. The comments in the guestboook so far have filled our hearts with warmth and we thank you for your kindess.

Remember if you want to come here next year then doo book early especially for July and August as we booked up very quickly for this season's height.....we still have space in September this year and we are open for bookings in 2011. The sun is out and its hot again finally!
The flowers and garden are starting to come out in all their glory and the whole place is coming back to life after the Winter. Finally our three weeks of hard work is paying off!
